Will You be Spelman's Next Fulbright Fellow?

If you want to study in other countries or at other schools in the United States, Spelman encourages you to seek out those opportunities. A big part of a Spelman education is gaining an appreciation of the multicultural communities of our nation and our world.

You can study on other campuses and in other countries for a semester or an entire year, or you can choose a summer program overseas. The Off-Campus Studies Program includes study abroad and international or domestic exchange programs.

The Domestic Exchange Program allows students to take classes at many esteemed colleges around the country. The International Exchange Program and the Study Abroad Program allow you to study at schools around the world.

The possibilities for study abroad are endless. Just one special opportunity is the Spelman College Summer Art Colony, located at Taller Portobelo on the Caribbean coast of the Republic of Panama. The Art Colony attracts art students, emerging artists and students interested in ethnographic research, Spanish, Latin American Studies, and the African Diaspora, resulting in a very diverse and interesting group of participants. The Art Colony is not under the Study Abroad Program umbrella, so you should contact Spelman professor and artist Arturo Lindsay for an application.

To apply for admission to an Off-Campus Studies Program, submit a completed application for off-campus study to the coordinator of the Domestic Exchange Program (Dean Desiree Pedescleaux) by February 25 of the upcoming year, or submit a completed application for Study Abroad to the director of Study Abroad (Dr. Ganz) by March 1 for the fall semester or October 15 for the spring semester.
